THE SLOPES
Jamie and I bought Minard Cottage to access the great outdoors. Glencoe Ski Resort is 15 minutes away from the cottage - you can be first onto the slopes. Over the last few years, Glencoe Ski Resort has had some of the best skiing in Europe, deep powder snow and perfect alpine weather.
Nevis Range is nearby in Fort William.
Cairngorm Mountain and Snow Factor can both be reached in about 1.45 mins from Minard Cottage.
Hi! I'm Tracey Smith owner of Minard Cottage. My husband Jamie and I bought the cottage nearly 15 years ago when it housed a famous climbing shop and guiding outlet.
We moved the shop to our other business (Ice Factor in Kinlochleven) in order to create more space for our family. Our two children (Jamie and Eilidh) grew up in the cottage and it was our family home throughout their school years.
The original cottage dates back to the 19th century and has been extensively added to over the decades. We completed a total renovation of the cottage, adding central heating, a family dining kitchen, adding a new bathroom and upgrading all the rooms. We loved living in Minard Cottage. It's a special place with many dear memories.
The location is perfect for skiing and snowboarding - Glencoe Mountain Resort is only 15 mins away and our other business Snow Factor, in Braehead, is only 1.45 mins.
There is no better location for touring the stunning west Highlands of Scotland. You can easily access Oban, Mull, Moidard, Knoydard, the Road To The Isles and the Isle of Skye from Minard Cottage.
We hope your short break in the Highlands of Scotland will be as memorable and joyous as our years in Glencoe.
